Advanced Fantasy Football (AFF) is a highly
competitive and strategic
form of 'fantasy football' played in separate leagues
of up to
twenty*
'managers'.
AFF is fairly simple to learn but is sophisticated
enough to allow managers to use complex strategies
in their attempts to win their league.
Advanced Fantasy Football's™
unique system (© Copyright) differs from
standard fantasy football in the following ways:
1. Each
football player is 'owned' by only one manager.
This is done via auctions,
which you can organize yourselves, or use our unique
internet auction system using 'sealed
bids' which take place at the
start of your season. During the season players may be
transferred between managers for an agreed amount, or
managers may use the 'spare pool' of players which
no-one has yet signed.
2. Each club
has a fictional 'bank
account'
which is used for the following:
-
for
managers to buy and sell players during the season
-
to pay players
wages during
the season
-
to pay for
your club's stadium
-
to bank
your gate
receipts
Players score points for your team in the usual
fantasy football way but our unique system allows
managers to buy and sell players to each other
during the season.
By introducing points fines for going overdrawn
(30pts per £1m) on your club's bank account - we
have 'oiled the wheels' of the transfer market.
Some managers will need to sell players to raise
cash, whereas other managers can improve their
teams by buying good players from struggling teams.

This is the basic principle around which the game is
based:
During the season there are 3 'Pay
Days'.
On these days, clubs receive income from gate
receipts but must also pay players wages
and any stadium costs.
Each club's gate income is determined, on a sliding
scale, by its position in its league.
Teams at the
top earn more gate income than teams near the bottom.
A mid-table club will usually be able
to afford its wages and stadium costs out of its gate
receipts.
As teams climb above mid table towards the top of the
league they become 'better off' due to their
increasing gate receipts, as successful teams are
usually better supported.
(See graphical
example)
However, as teams fall below mid table
towards the bottom of the league they gradually become
'worse off' as their gate receipts fall below the
amount required to pay their players' wages and any
stadium costs.
We calculate these cash flows for you and they're
shown on your league table, so it's easy to understand
and you don't have to spend time doing the sums.
If a club is overdrawn at the end of a 'pay day' it is
fined points for every million overdrawn, which
inevitably means that clubs going overdrawn will find
it necessary to sell players to richer teams in the
top half - and this unique mechanism 'oils the wheels'
of the transfer market.
-----------------
'Cash rich' teams can make offers to clubs going
overdrawn and transfers will take place between clubs
- just as in the real premier league.
This introduces an element of skillful bargaining into
the game as, when buying or selling players, managers
must try to haggle for the best deals they can get.

rules.

Please note - there are NO
CASH PRIZES in Advanced Fantasy Football and this is
for two reasons:
1. We are a
specialist, niche market, 'cottage industry' offering
a high quality product to fantasy
football enthusiasts. Our managers only compete
against the 20 managers in their league, not thousands of other
managers, as occurs in standard cash-based fantasy
games.
2. Introducing cash payouts would
constitute a form of gambling.
Our mission is simply to offer
fantasy football enthusiasts the best version of
fantasy football available (at an affordable cost).
Complying with gambling industry regulations would
significantly increase our fixed costs, which we would
then have to pass on to our customers.
(Please note - it is legal for
friends to 'pool bet' amongst themselves using fantasy
football games).

We re-iterate our position re gambling and
emphasise that we never become involved in private
disputes between members. We are in no way responsible for any losses incurred
as a result of individuals privately betting on AFF
results. We never enter into correspondence regarding
disputed player scores and our decision on scores (and
rules) is final.

COMMISSIONS
£50!! Commissions to
'League
Controllers'
We pay £50 to anyone
who starts up a NEW Advanced
Fantasy Football League containing 20 managers (pro
rata* see below).
After the first year, League
Controllers earn £25
commission per season for a league of 20 managers (pro
rata*).
A 'League Controller's only duties are to sign up
members to their league and collect and submit
members' details and fees prior to the start of the
season.
A 'New' league is defined as one
where more than half of its managers are 'new'
members. A 'member' is logged by their permanent
e-mail address (not hotmail).
Members' E-mail addresses are used for:
1. registering AFF 'members'
2. sending out passwords
3. determining commissions
4. Places in Winners Hall of Fame.
(*pro rata: if your league
contains less than 20 managers then deduct £5
for every manager under 20).
£20!! Commissions
to 'Referrers'
We pay £20 to any AFF league member who is
named as a 'referrer' by a new League Controller.
WHAT?!!
That means you can earn money by just telling
someone else about Advanced
Fantasy Football if they then set up a
league and name you as their referrer!
You will also earn repeat
commissions! (£10)
for every year that that league runs
thereafter!!
Of course, if you are going to set up a league,
or even recommend us, you should be confident about
the quality of our product and (given our track record
and the positive comments we receive from those
already playing) we have no doubts that you will be.
