Credits or Points system for 'winnings'
In order to stop any possible collusion between two managers who may wish to
strengthen one of their teams (at the expense of the other) in order that one of
their teams finishes higher in the league than it would otherwise have done, we
suggest the use of a 'credit scoring system' based, for instance, on matchstick
winnings.
This method uses a sliding scale for all teams from top to bottom of the
league using, for instance, 'matchstick' payouts at the end of the
season.
This is an extremely effective way of stopping
two managers colluding, as strengthening one team merely weakens the other team
by a similar amount.
This example below demonstrates the idea -
at the start of the season each manager pays in 20 matchsticks to the league
administrator which are
redistributed out at the end of the season according to their teams position in
the league as follows - example with 20 teams in the league (adapt
the principle as necessary)
